Quantum’s physicians know that
patients can feel anxious about many of the interventional radiology
procedures. To help relieve some of the stresses involved in preparing
for an exam,
Quantum has a dedicated team of R.N.’s and aides who meet with our
patients to review and explain the entire procedure in a quiet, non-threatening
atmosphere.
On the date of the intervention,
the nurses greet the patients and help guide them through the procedure
and their stay in the recovery room.
At the end of the day, the nurses
review discharge instructions with the patients, answer any questions
and remind the patients that they can call if they are feeling anxious or
uncertain
about any symptoms they experience when they are at home.
These patient care coordinators have
made the difficult and unpleasent process of undergoing a procedure
easier to bear.
