Inc. takes pride in the unique place we hold in the history of radiology
in
Central Pennsylvania. From our beginnings, in 1919, when
Allen Z. Ritzman, M.D. was appointed Roentgenologist at
Harrisburg Hospital to our state-of-the-art Teleradiology
Center in Lewisberry, PA.
Quantum Imaging & Therapeutic Associates was formed on
January 1, 1997 as a result of the merger of Radiology
Associates
of York, Pennsylvania and A.Z. Ritzman Associates of Camp
Hill, Pennsylvania. Currently, our group boasts more than
50 radiologists, many of whom are fellowship trained in
areas
such as Angiography,
Computed
Tomography,
Mammography, Musculoskeletal
Imaging, Neuroradiology, Nuclear
Medicine, Ultrasound and Pediatric
Radiology. Quantum is also proud of its Radiation
Oncology practice in York County, Pennsylvania,
which currently employs 5 Radiation Oncologists.
Quantum Imaging & Therapeutic Associates,
Inc. began its long-standing partnership with the Central
Pennsylvania medical community when Dr. Ritzman
had the distinction of becoming the first radiologist in the region. He
was also the first to form a radiology practice in the Harrisburg area.
A.Z. Ritzman Associates provided imaging services to the Harrisburg
community beginning in 1926. In 1913, radiology services were being
offered at York Hospital by a small group of physicians. By 1972,
Radiology Associates of York formed and a group of 8 radiologists were
servicing
the imaging
department
at York
Hospital. During the 1980’s the York group had grown to 17 physicians
(13 radiologists and 4 radiation oncologists) prior to merging with
15
radiologists of A.Z. Ritzman Associates in 1997.
The merger of the two groups created
the largest independent radiology group in Central Pennsylvania. The
strength of our group comes from a combination of years of
experience in the Central Pennsylvania region as well the
collaborative efforts of our highly skilled radiologists.
Currently,
Quantum radiologists practice at the Holy Spirit Health System,
PinnacleHealth System, WellSpan Health System - York, Magnetic
Imaging Center, MRI of York, Lebanon MRI and Community Imaging
of Harrisburg. Our group also maintains its own outpatient
radiology practice in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania with diagnostic,
Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, Ultrasound (including
4D) and Echocardiography services. In addition to these services,
Quantum offers radiation therapy at Apple Hill Medical Center
in York, PA and Cherry Tree Cancer Center in Hanover, PA. Recent
additions to the practice include a mobile positron emission
tomography (P.E.T.) unit and a state-of-the-art teleradiology
center at our corporate headquarters in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.
